God created a break in our schedule and lead us to Whispering Cove Retreat. Dick and I were experiencing a lot of stress and chaos due to the busyness of ministry life. We were not aware of how tired, exhausted, and close to burnout we both were.
Upon arriving at Whispering Cove Retreat, we experienced the peace and rest this place provides. The lodge was awesome. The grounds were beautiful. The atmosphere proved to be a healing balm in our lives. We both experienced renewal and refreshment.
Bill and his wife Jenny made themselves available to serve us, in whichever way the Lord led. Bill is an excellent counselor. His teaching on the psychology of sanctification is a great tool that God uses for giving us an understanding of ourselves and for transforming lives.
Personally, I (Dee) struggled with depression, fears, and insecurities that paralyzed my walk with Him. I was praying more and studying more; nothing helped. A friend who was praying for me told me that my heart needed to be repaired. During the ministry prayer sessions, God began to repair my heart. I discovered that there were places deep within my heart that I didn’t want to visit, yet I knew that freedom would only come by allowing the Holy Spirit to expose those memories and heal them. God revealed to me that in those terrible traumatic events, He was there all the time! I ceased striving and allowed my heavenly Father to gently heal these buried wounds and bring me into a greater intimacy with Him. I thank you Jesus.
Whispering Cove Retreat was an amazing experience for me. God brought healing and restoration to my heart. There are many pastors and missionaries who are hurting. Sadly, many are too busy to take time to be with God and receive the ministry He has for them. Places like Whispering Cove Retreat are God’s gift to ministry couples if only they would make the time to take advantage of their healing programs.
